The article by Michael Pastore == 30 Benefits of Ebooks == was written about in Lifehacker, and then linked to by more than 1,000 blogs and websites. I do believe that these are 30 Genuine Benefits of ebooks. The article has been written to encourage reading (which is declining in America), and to promote printed books (hardcovers and paperbacks), and to take a fresh look at the zany world of big-name publishing.
For many varieties of reading, ebooks (and electronic publications) are a good choice. From an environmental perspective, ebooks — and “e newspapers” — are good for the enviroment. Ebooks reduce paper consumption, save fuel and transportation costs, reduce waste, and save trees.
Question:
How many trees are used to produce one week’s worth of paper in a Sunday New York Times newspaper?
Answer:
One weekly issue of the New York times consumes 75,000 trees.
One year of Sunday newspapers, produced by the New York Times, is responsible for the destruction of more than 3,900,000 trees,
